I find comfort in a grid.

I’ve stood on the corners of some streets and wished that the repeating, gridded blocks would go on forever like a story that has no ending.  Instead, the cars whiz past and the people buzz around in circles and inevitably the road takes a turn landing me in a new place, a new time, a new story.  Still, I stand there mesmerized by the chaotic rhythms surrounding me wanting to make some sense of it all. In my own way, I do that by painting.  The geometric forms in my work are my way of bringing a succinctness to the chaos of life.
